Terms of Service
Daffodil Inscribe
Last updated: 12 October 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to Daffodil Inscribe.
These Terms of Service explain the conditions that apply when you browse our website, purchase our products or use our online services.
Daffodil Inscribe is an independent UK business offering botanical stationery, handmade paper, journals, letter-writing sets, thoughtful gifts and related products.
Daffodil Inscribe is operated by Alys Wines, a sole trader trading as Daffodil Inscribe.
Our website, https://daffodilinscribe.com, is powered by Shopify, which provides the e-commerce platform through which we sell our products.
By using our website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms of Service, subject always to your statutory rights.
Please read these terms alongside our Return and Refund Policy, Privacy Policy and Shipping Policy.
Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts any rights you have under applicable consumer protection legislation.
2. Our products
We take care to describe and photograph our products as accurately as possible.
However, colours may appear slightly different depending on your screen settings, lighting and device.
Our handmade paper is individually produced. Natural variations in colour, texture, thickness, deckled edges and botanical inclusions are part of its character and make each piece unique.
Such variations do not automatically indicate a fault.
We aim to provide accurate product dimensions, quantities, materials and descriptions. Products must nevertheless comply with your statutory rights, including being as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose.
We may update our product range, discontinue items or change product descriptions when necessary.
Any material changes to an accepted order will be discussed with the customer where required.
3. Placing an order
When you place an order through our website, you are making an offer to purchase the selected products.
After placing your order, you should receive an acknowledgement or confirmation email.
An automatic acknowledgement of receipt does not necessarily mean that we have accepted your order. The contract is formed when we confirm acceptance of your order.
We reserve the right to decline an order for legitimate reasons, including unavailable stock, suspected fraudulent activity, delivery restrictions or a clear pricing error.
If we are unable to fulfil an order for which payment has already been taken, we will contact you and provide an appropriate refund.
Please check your order details carefully before completing checkout, including your name, delivery address, contact information and selected products.
If you notice an error after placing an order, please contact us as soon as possible at daffodilinscribe@gmail.com.
We will do our best to help, although changes may not be possible once an order has been dispatched.
4. Prices and payments
All prices displayed on our website are in pounds sterling (GBP), unless otherwise stated.
The total payable amount, including any applicable taxes and delivery charges, will be shown before you complete your purchase.
If applicable, additional delivery costs will be calculated or displayed during checkout.
We reserve the right to change product prices and promotional offers. Price changes will not normally affect orders we have already accepted.
Payment must be completed using one of the payment methods offered at checkout.
Payments are processed through Shopify and its supported payment providers. We do not require customers to send payment-card details directly by email.
If an obvious pricing or technical error occurs, we will contact you before fulfilling the affected order and explain the available options.
5. Availability and handmade production
Some Daffodil Inscribe products are produced by hand or in small batches.
Availability may therefore be limited, particularly for botanical handmade paper and special collections.
Where an item is made to order or available for pre-order, the estimated production and dispatch arrangements will be stated on the relevant product page or communicated before purchase.
If an accepted order cannot be fulfilled within the agreed timeframe, we will contact you to discuss the appropriate options, including cancellation and a refund where applicable.
We will not substitute a materially different product without your agreement.
6. Shipping and delivery
Delivery options, charges, geographical availability and estimated dispatch times are provided through our website and checkout.
Delivery estimates are provided in good faith but may occasionally be affected by postal disruption, severe weather or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Unless a different delivery period has been agreed, goods must generally be delivered without undue delay and within 30 days of the contract being made.
Where delivery is delayed or does not take place, customers retain their legal rights under applicable consumer legislation.
For consumer orders, responsibility for the goods generally remains with Daffodil Inscribe until the goods are received by you or a person you have nominated.
An exception may apply where you independently arrange a carrier that we did not offer as a delivery option.
We are not automatically relieved of responsibility simply because a parcel has been handed to a delivery company.
Please ensure that your delivery details are accurate. Contact us promptly if you discover an error.
For further information, please see our Shipping Policy.
7. Cancellations, returns and refunds
Customers purchasing eligible goods online generally have a statutory 14-day cancellation period, subject to applicable exceptions.
Our Return and Refund Policy explains how to cancel, arrange a return and receive a refund.
It also explains the arrangements for faulty, damaged and incorrectly supplied products.
For eligible change-of-mind returns, customers are responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods unless otherwise agreed or required by law.
Where goods are faulty, not as described or otherwise fail to meet statutory requirements, customers may be entitled to remedies under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
The fact that an item is handmade, reduced in price or purchased during a promotion does not automatically remove statutory consumer rights.
Certain genuinely personalised products or goods made to a customer’s specifications may be exempt from change-of-mind cancellation rights, where the legal conditions for an exemption are met.
Nothing in these Terms of Service limits your statutory cancellation, refund or consumer rights.
8. Digital products
Where Daffodil Inscribe offers downloadable journals, printable stationery or other digital products, the relevant product listing will explain what is included and how the content is delivered.
Digital products are generally supplied electronically and do not include a physical item unless the listing expressly states otherwise.
Customers purchasing digital content may have a statutory cancellation right.
Where immediate digital delivery is requested, that right may be lost once supply begins, but only where the required express consent, acknowledgement and contractual confirmation have been provided in accordance with applicable law.
If those requirements are not met, the customer’s statutory cancellation rights remain unaffected.
Digital products must also meet the applicable legal standards, including being as described and fit for purpose.
Unless expressly permitted otherwise, digital products are supplied for personal use and may not be copied, resold, redistributed or shared commercially.
9. Intellectual property
The Daffodil Inscribe name, original product designs, illustrations, written content, photographs, branding and other original materials appearing on our website are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Unless stated otherwise, these materials belong to Daffodil Inscribe or are used with permission from their respective owners.
You may browse our website and use its content for your own lawful, personal purposes.
You must not reproduce, commercially distribute, resell or use our original artwork, designs, photographs or digital products without prior permission, except where permitted by law.
Purchasing a physical or digital product does not transfer ownership of the underlying copyright or other intellectual property rights.
Any trademarks or content belonging to third parties remain the property of their respective owners.
10. Website use
You agree to use our website lawfully and respectfully.
You must not knowingly introduce malicious software, attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, interfere with the operation of our website or use it for fraudulent purposes.
We may take reasonable steps to protect the security and operation of our website.
Nothing in this section restricts lawful consumer activity or rights.
11. Third-party services and links
Our website is hosted through Shopify and may use trusted third-party services for functions including payments, delivery, website analytics, customer communications and other store features.
Our website may also contain links to third-party websites.
We are not responsible for the independent content or practices of websites that we do not control.
However, nothing in this section excludes responsibility that Daffodil Inscribe has under applicable law in connection with products or services sold directly to customers.
Customers should review the relevant third-party terms and privacy notices where appropriate.
12. Privacy and personal information
We respect the privacy of our customers and website visitors.
Personal information provided through our website is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection legislation, including UK data protection law.
We may use customer information to process orders, arrange delivery, provide customer support, maintain our website and fulfil other legitimate business purposes.
Where required, we obtain consent for marketing communications and non-essential cookies or similar technologies.
You can find further information in our Privacy Policy, including how personal information is collected, used, stored and shared.
For privacy-related enquiries, please contact daffodilinscribe@gmail.com.
13. Promotional offers
From time to time, Daffodil Inscribe may offer promotions, discount codes, bundles or special offers.
Any additional conditions will be made clear when the offer is advertised.
Promotional offers may be subject to stated dates, availability or other reasonable restrictions.
We will not apply misleading discounts or alter an accepted purchase price without a lawful basis.
Promotions do not affect statutory consumer rights.
14. Customer reviews and feedback
We welcome genuine customer reviews, suggestions and feedback.
By submitting a review or other content for publication, you confirm that it is your own contribution and that you have the right to share it.
Where you give us permission to publish your review or feedback, you grant Daffodil Inscribe a non-exclusive permission to reproduce it for the stated purpose.
We will not knowingly publish fabricated customer reviews or misleading ratings.
We reserve the right to moderate unlawful, abusive, misleading or otherwise inappropriate material in a fair and reasonable manner.
Any use of personal information associated with feedback will be subject to our Privacy Policy.
15. Workshops and events
Daffodil Inscribe may occasionally offer workshops, creative sessions, markets or other in-person experiences.
Where bookings are available, the relevant event listing or booking confirmation will explain what is included, the date and location, accessibility information where available, and any applicable cancellation arrangements.
Specific workshop or event terms may apply and will be disclosed before booking.
The statutory cancellation rules applicable to event bookings may differ from those for ordinary physical goods, depending on the nature of the booking and the applicable law.
Any additional terms will not override your statutory rights.
16. International orders
International delivery is available only where offered or expressly agreed.
Customers outside the United Kingdom should review the delivery arrangements and total checkout price before placing an order.
Depending on the destination, customs duties, import VAT, handling fees or other charges may apply.
Where these charges are not included in the purchase price, this will be made clear before purchase where required.
International purchases may be subject to additional mandatory consumer protections under applicable local law.
We reserve the right to decline orders to destinations where we cannot reasonably fulfil applicable delivery, customs or legal requirements.
17. Liability and consumer rights
We aim to provide accurate information, reliable service and products that meet the required legal standards.
Nothing in these Terms of Service excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Nothing limits the rights or remedies available to consumers under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable consumer protection legislation.
We are not responsible for losses caused solely by circumstances outside our reasonable control where the law permits this, but this does not remove any legal responsibility we have for accepted orders, delivery or defective goods.
Any limitation of liability in these terms applies only to the extent permitted by law.
18. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time to reflect changes in our business, products, website operation or legal requirements.
The latest version will be published on our website with an updated revision date.
Any changes will apply prospectively and will not remove rights or protections that apply to an order already accepted.
Where legally required, we will notify customers of material changes.
19. Governing law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply in the customer’s place of residence.
If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the United Kingdom or another jurisdiction, nothing in these terms removes any mandatory rights or legal protections that apply to you.
Disputes will be handled by the courts with jurisdiction under applicable law.
